Porphyry
Leader in the extraction and machining of porphyry
Porphyry, or rhyolite, is an effusive magmatic rock that was formed due to a reduction in pressure and rapid cooling resulting from a leakage from the crust of the magma. It consists of a microcrystalline paste in which a series of isolated crystals, called phenocrysts, are immersed.
Its mineral composition consists of quartz, sanidine, plagioclase and biotite, pyroxene and glass paste: its characteristics make porphyry an extremely durable stone.
The best squares are paved using porphyry.
Trentinian Grey Brown Porphyry
Petrographic Name: Rhyolite
Porphyry generally presents excellent physical-mechanical features that are not subject to alterations: high degree of compactness, excellent resistance to mechanical stresses and shocks, low risk of frost damage and high slipping resistance. Its slab-shaped origin makes the Trentino porphyry, with natural surface, the most widespread stone, although it perfectly fits with other proceedings that, nonetheless, suffer from the lack of high dimension slabs; it can be used for any indoor and outdoor application, from tiling to covering, including in cold and humid weathers and with high temperature fluctuations. It is also recommended to create chromatic contrasts by combining it with other natural stones. This is the porphyry par excellence, whose charm tells the story of the Trentino region and the authenticity of its people. Always refined, never inappropriate: the brown mixed colour makes it suitable for any context and use.
Trentinian Red Porphyry
Petrographic Name: Rhyolite
The D'Avis Camparta Red Trentino’s porphyry, extracted from the homonymous quarry, which is one of the biggest in the world, presents excellent physical-mechanical properties, not subject to alterations: high degree of compactness, excellent resistance to mechanical stresses and shocks, low risk of frost damage and high slipping resistance. The D'Avis Camparta products with natural surface are the best way to add passion to the different external solutions they perfectly fit with.
Porphyry Argentino
Petrographic Name: Rhyolite
Porfiris® Argentine Porphyry has excellent technical characteristics not subject to alteration, a high degree of compactness with excellent resistance to mechanical stresses and shocks, low freezing and high slip resistance. In addition to the natural surface, this stone lends itself to flamed, honed, polished or covering finishes, and it can be used for all applications, both external and interior, from paving to coverings. even in cold and damp climates or where there are temperature variations. It is also recommended, in combination with other natural stones, to create color contrasts.
The possibility to make pattern slabs from the extraction of Porfiris® allows the realisation of a wide range of machined products, produced by the Valle di Fornace laboratory.
Porfiris® stands out for its ample range of colors: for machined products, it ranges from gray (Pearl, Light Pearl, Alpine) to Dolomite red, as well as the more delicate Old Rose and Mixed Color. Split products also have bright colours, including stolid Plata Grey, extrovert Mixed Flint, as well as fiery Siena Red and Rosé and breezy Magellanic Mixed.
